Brother's Ku and Moke as puppies

The first basenjis which bear the Jumoke kennel name was out of Ch. Amun C-Zara, sired by Ch. Ramses Golden Phoenix

The litter was a success, with two of the puppies earning championships.  Ku, like his sire was a exceptional moving dog.  He was occasionally shown as a special, earning multiple Best of Breeds and Group placements which resulted in national standings.  Ku's success was the catalyst, essentially launching Jumoke Basenjis

Pronounced: "ju-mo'kee" "buh-sen'jee's"

Jumoke Basenjis was established in 1985. The name "Jumoke" is from the Yorba Language of west Africa, the meaning is "Loved by All". I choose the name when a Lowland gorilla, born in the spring of 1985, at the Woodland Zoological Gardens in Seattle, was given the name Jumoke by the staff.
